MSI membership is in one of three categories, with corresponding fees and benefits:

  1. Organizational membership fees are based on $1.25 USD per flight hour for the first 5,000 hours that your aircraft flew in the past 12 months, then $.25 per flight hour over 5,000 flight hours, with a $250 minimum.
  2. Individual membership fees:
      • Students will pay $10 USD per year.
      • Others will pay $35 USD per year.
  3. Missionary schools will be on a case-by-case contractual basis.

Before you dismiss membership with MSI as an expense that you can not afford, or do not need, consider this:

Most of you are paying close to $35 USD per flight hour or more for preventative maintenance on your aircraft. This is good practice, and we do it because we want to prevent mechanical failures from causing an accident, and prevention is much cheaper than repair or replacement. However, only 8% to 14% of accidents are related to mechanical failures. Is the price per flight hour too much to pay to prevent the other 92% to 86% of accidents?

Participation in the Regional Safety Verification Program (RSVP) requires organizational membership.

Remember that one of the biggest benefits we can all receive is to learn from the experiences of others. This can only become possible in missionary aviation as we share our experiences, and hear about others’ experiences after they have shared them. We would very much appreciate your helping MSI do this by signing up as a member today.
